Te'm Ba'w On Nouvel

I thought I was done making posts about what was destroyed during the riots. I honestly thought I had covered every major losses until I made the research for today's post.

I thought I was heartbroken last week, that heartache was nothing compared to the one I have tonight writing this article.

"Te kwe nou te grangou kijan nou fe boule manje?"

"I thought you guys were hungry how can you guys burn food?"

July 6th and 7th were very dark days for Haiti, both things and lives were ruined on those dates. Last week, I mentioned the super market that closed his doors and the 673 employees that were suffering from it. I did not think it could get worst. Today, I found out that five mobile cafeterias and three trucks were squandered, then burned. They were owned by the "Economic and Social Assistance Funds".

They were stored in the area of Delmas 33 because the location benefited in large space and no cost. EACH of these trucks provided 3 000 HOT MEALS to less fortunate individuals. This service was part of a program called "Kore Pep", which means "Support Population". So again, FIVE TRUCKS were burned which means, 15 000 meals were taken from people who REALLY needed it.

As a result, the "School Cafeteria" sub-program is suspended and around 21 people are OUT of a job.

Thankfully, since people really needed the service to be functional again, the representatives of this program took 2 trucks from the province of Grand'Anse to continue the service in Port-Au-Prince.

I never agreed with the methods used during the riots, however, part of me understood the reasons why people were so angry. One of those reasons being the fact that these people can't afford a decent lifestyle. Now, this is the million dollar question of the day,

HOW THE F*** DO YOU BURN FOOD WHEN YOU'RE HUNGRY?

None of this makes sense to me. Every day, I wonder where was these people's logic, every day, I ask myself if all of this was worth it and every day, I wonder if these people are happy with their lives now.

I thank you all for reading and I apologize if all I keep talking about is negative but I have to. I feel like not enough people are talking about it.
